The role of Ozone in relation to Covid-19
Ozone Therapy in Italy authorized!
On March 24, 2020 the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (ISS) (Superior Institute of Health) authorized the use of Ozone therapy for the treatment of patients who have tested positive for Covid-19.
The Scientific Society of Oxygen Ozone Therapy (SIOOT) communicated on April 8 that more than 10 hospital centres in Piedmont, Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Veneto and Lazio have already started to use the oxygen Ozone Therapy in the treatment of Corona patients. The first clinical results from these hospitals are expected within the next 40 days.
Ozone Therapy Proving successful in COVID-19 Patients on Ibiza
The Nuestra Señora del Rosario Polyclinica in Ibiza is the first in Spain to use the Ozone technique in treating Covid-19 patients, with success.
In a press release the clinic said “Many patients who were about to be intubated and connected to mechanical ventilation have, thanks to ozone therapy, not only avoided it but improved to the point of not requiring oxygen with just a few treatment sessions.”
The clinic also stated that they are seeing improvements in patients after just ‘2 or 3 treatment sessions’. Ozone therapy has the benefit of improving oxygenation at the tissue level and therefore reduces the inflammatory response suffered by patients.
How Ozone effectively works
The potent disinfectant action of ozone easily oxidises glycoproteins & lipoproteins. The coronavirus is a lipid-coated virus, and if you disrupt that lipid coat, you reduce or eliminate its infectivity. Ozone attacks lipids, and viruses cannot repair that damage. Therefore it upsets the reproductive cycle by disrupting the virus-to-cell contact with perioxidation.
Ozone modulates the immune system through inducing metabolites (ozonites) that create cytokine synthesis such as interferons and interleukins which migrate through the lymphoid system. This is an important process because it prevents any virus infection from becoming chronic, bringing the immune system back into balance. The cytokine storm associated with severe COVID-19 infection is due to an out of control immune reaction
Delivery of Ozone in the case of COVID-19
Since Ozone dissipates within seconds, it cannot effectively kill a significant number of viral pathogens unless you extend the exposure. For a severe or acute case, Ozone needs to be given via prolonged administration, autohemotherapy ~ delivery through through ozone-enriched blood.
